Project: Development of next generation antimicrobial peptides for antimicrobial therapy and protection

The Professional Officer’s primary job scope is to participate in and manage an innovation project and ensure that all project deliverables are met. 
The Professional Officer’s secondary job scope may involve facilitating SIT’s students learning during hands-on and practical activities to enhance the students’ technical problem solving skills and increase their preparedness for industry.   

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the innovation project and ensure that all project deliverables are met.
  • Able to independently design and execute wet lab experiments to deliver outcomes for the project.
  • Train undergraduate students in laboratory skillsets related to the project.
  • Procure and manage all relevant lab resources and software including carrying out associated risk assessment and ensuring compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations in the laboratories.

Job Requirements
  • Relevant experience and proven track record in molecular biology, yeast genetic manipulation will be an advantage.
  • A minimum bachelor degree requirement in Biochemical Engineering, Microbiology, Biology or related disciplines.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
