The Professional Officer’s primary job scope is to participate in, manage an industry innovation project, and ensure that all project deliverables are met. 

The Professional Officer’s secondary job scope may involve facilitating SIT’s students learning during hands-on and practical activities to enhance the students’ technical problem solving skills and increase their preparedness for industry.   

Key Responsibilities
  • Work together with Project Investigator (PI) and industry collaborators to carry out experiments required for antibody production from mammalian cells.
  • Co-supervise SIT undergraduate student(s) in performing common biochemical and molecular experiments, as well as maintaining cell cultures for expression of antibodies
  • Maintain SIT-owned equipment in lab.
  • Submit regular progress reports to PI, partners and industry collaborators
  • Train undergraduate students in laboratory skillsets related to the project.
  • Procure and manage all relevant lab resources and software including carrying out associated risk assessment and ensuring compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations in the laboratories.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. degree holder in Biology, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical engineering or similar.
  • Experience working in molecular biology lab or similar.
  • Experience with tissue culturing, viral work, advanced molecular cloning, ELISAs, FPLC/HPLC are a huge plus
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
