The Professional Officer’s primary job scope is to participate in and manage an industry innovation project and ensure that all project deliverables are met. 
The Professional Officer’s secondary job scope may involve facilitating SIT’s students learning during hands-on and practical activities to enhance the students’ technical problem solving skills and increase their preparedness for industry.   

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with students, government agency and rail operators in modelling and simulating railway networks for railway education and applied research.
  • Develop industry simulator for railway engineering education with lab practice and assignments.
  • Model Singapore MRT network into the simulator and deal with various inputs and output data.
  • Train undergraduate students in laboratory skillsets related to the project.
  • Procure and manage all relevant lab resources and software including carrying out associated risk assessment and ensuring compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations in the laboratories.
  • Assist in laboratories management and teaching supports
  • Provide competency supports for SIT in-house projects
Job Requirements
  • A Bachelor’s degree in railway engineering, electrical & computer engineering, data analytics or other relevant programs.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Good Programming and software skills and experience in Solaris/Unix, Python
  • Experience in simulation and modelling as well as development in education coursework preferred.
  • Self-motivated team player.
  • Excellent writing, documentation, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
